Hi, my name is Michael Halischak and I hail from the Buckeye state, Ohio! I was born and raised in Ohio nearly half of my life. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Ohio State University. Obtained a master degree in Sign Language Teaching from Gallaudet University . I have taught ASL classes at the Deaf Service Center, Columbus State Community College, Ohio School for the Deaf, Ohio University Regional Branches: Chillicothe and Zanesville campuses and am currently teaching at Community College of Philadelphia. I am a member of a fourth generation deaf family. ASL is my native language and I think it is one of the most versatile and beautiful languages I have ever known. Traveling is my passion and I have been to Germany, Russia, Panama, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. I look forward to travelling again pretty soon. Also, teaching ASL and Deaf culture is one of my passions. I am looking forward to expanding my experiences with you as well.
